Long ago in America, you could have become an apprentice to a craftsman called a tinsmith. You would have learned to make all sorts of useful tinwork items like cake pans, coffee pots, and lanterns. Some tinwork was punched, creating holes in the item. Tin was punched in decorative patterns that also had practical purposes. Tin panels on the door of a pie safe let air circulate to cool pies while keeping flies away.
You can make 5 unusual shiny tin ornaments to hang in the window. Design your own pattern or follow one of ours. We include 5 tins, 1 nail, 5 strips of ribbon, sample designs, and easy-to-follow illustrations.
